There are two things that could be picked up. Organisms with defects historically made the jump if the conditions were right. In the current environment humans with defects are given a lift up enabled by other humans. This isnt good or bad, merely a fact. Secondly, its certain types who are thriving. Those at the very top, a smaller number but still significant who frequently have loads of kids. And those that learn how to play the system and have lots of kids. Its entirely possible these people are bright of course but in our normal language "bright" people strive to be middling tax payers being fucked by the top and bottom.

This is what comes of a 50 year all out assault on the traditional family and the growth of a huge state that infantilised people by taking on board all responsibility for looking after as many kids as they chuck out as long as dad isn’t around to contribute.
Wealthier people have less kids because all that matters is having as much time to spend their money on themselves as possible. Less well off people have more kids because it’s a shortcut to more money and a bigger house.

Like Sydney I left the UK in my early twenties, but unlike Sydney there is not much I miss. Going to watch West Ham is the biggest miss and watching England a second miss.
When I have gone back to England I have loved the pub life and detested the crowds of youngsters hanging about the closed shops.
Nothing can replace my early years in Essex am I am proud of those memories.

I left the UK when I was 21 and never regretted it, yes I miss a few things, football, the Pubs, English humour but even back then I could see for the average bloke on the street who wasn’t from a privileged background, opportunities, wages, lifestyle and conditions were far better elsewhere.
Each time I visit I think thank fuck I don’t live here.
No regrets.
